Trace A. Urdan

Trace A. Urdan, a Principal in the San Francisco office of
ThinkEquity Partners, covers the knowledge enterprise group for
the research-centered investment boutique. For 2001 he was named
one of the top five ‘Best on the Street’ analysts in the consumer
services sector by The Wall Street Journal. He also edits a
weekly newsletter, Knowledge Notes, which reviews news and events
in the broadly-defined education market. He is a frequent
contributor to various business and industry publications and
speaks frequently on the topic of e-learning. Before joining
ThinkEquity, he was a Managing Director at WR Hambrecht + Co.,
covering education and e-learning stocks. Prior to joining WR
Hambrecht + Co, he covered the education and publishing
industries at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown where his research team
was ranked All American in education by Institutional Investor
magazine for two consecutive years. Prior to that time, he was
the Chief Financial Officer of a $300 million division of KPMG
Peat Marwick and before that, he ran the business operations for
Time magazine in Asia, based in Hong Kong. He holds an MBA from
Harvard University and a BA from Yale University.
