Robert A. Belfer

ROBERT A. BELFER is Founder, Chairman and CEO of Belco Oil & Gas Corp.
His career began when he joined Belco Petroleum Corp. (BPC) in 1958 upon
graduation from Harvard Law School where he received a J.D. Mr. Belfer
also received a A.B. from Columbia University in 1955. He became
President of (BPC) in 1965 and Chairman in 1985. He then resigned from
(BPC) in April 1986 to pursue private investments. Mr. Belfer is a
member of the board of directors at Enron Corp. and Nac Re Corp. His
personal and community activities include: Chairman of the Committee on
Budgets and Development at the JFK School of Government, Harvard
University. Chairman of Budget & Finance Committee and Treasurer of the
Board of Overseers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Mr.
Belfer is a member of the Board of Overseers at Cornell University
Medical College. He is a member of the Board of Governors at Weizmann
Institute of Science; member of the Visiting Committee at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art and member of the National Policy Committee
and Advisory Committee of Metropolitan New York at Business Executive
National Security. Mr. Belfer was awarded the Presidential Recognition
Award for Outstanding Community Service, presented on behalf of
President Ronald Reagan in January 1987. He is a member of the Council
on Foreign Relations, Old Oaks Country Club, Palm Beach Country Club and
Harmonie Club. Mr. Belfer includes reading, collecting antiquities and
tennis as his hobbies.
