Richard Rowe

RICHARD ROWE led the founding of RoweCom, Inc., in January 1994 and has
since served as Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. Prior
to founding the company, Dr. Rowe was the President and CEO of the Faxon
Company for 14 years. During his tenure Faxon became the world’s largest
library subscription agency with annual sales of greater than $500
million. Previously, Dr. Rowe was the Associate Dean of the Harvard
Graduate School of Education, Director of Harvard’s interfaculty
Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology and Public Practice, and
Director of the Cambridge office of the MIT Press. He was also a member
of the Massachusetts State Board of Education where he chaired the
Board’s Education Reform Taskforce. He serves on numerous boards,
including the MIT Press Administrative Board and the Board of Visitors
of the School of Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
