Philip H. Coelho

PHILIP H. COELHO has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
ThermoGenesis Corp. since November 1997. From December 1989 to November
1997, Mr. Coelho was President and CEO and from December 1986 to
December 1989, he was Vice President of Research and Development. Mr.
Coelho has been in the senior management of high technology consumer
electronic or medical device companies for 30 years. He obtained a BS
degree in Thermodynamic and Mechanical Engineering from the University
of California, Davis. He is a member of the Society of Cryobiology and
the inventor or co-inventor of 20 patents in the fields of cell
cryobiology, robotics, and methods of isolating and harvesting wound
healing proteins and enzymes from blood. Mr. Coelho is also a member of
the Board of Directors of Mediware Information Systems, Lenexa, KS and
Catalyst Pharmaceutical Partners, Coral Gables, Florida. Mr. Coelho
initiated and led the recent lobbying effort in Congress to establish
and finance a National Cord Blood Stem Cell Program which would collect
150,000 units of ethnically diverse, HLA typed, cryopreserved cord blood
stem cell units for the on-demand treatment of patients in need of
hematopoietic reconstitution—predominately patients with the
hematological cancers of leukemia and lymphoma and genetic diseases such
as sickle cell anemia, thalassemia and immune deficiencies.
