Michael K. Farr is President and Chief Investment Officer of Farr, Miller &
Washington, LLC- focusing on conservative long-term portfolio management to
individuals and institutions. Under his leadership, the firm has grown and
enjoys performance ranking it among the top quartile of all large-cap growth

Prior to joining FM&W, Mr. Farr was with Alex, Brown & Sons where he was a
Principal. As a leading financial analyst and strategist, Mr. Farr’s commentary
can be heard on Associated Press Radio, Bloomberg Radio and National Public
Radio, and he is quoted regularly in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune,
The Washington Post, BusinessWeek, and many other publications. He is currently
a contributor for CNBC. Mr. Farr has also been a recurring guest host for CNN,
Fox, Bloomberg, Reuters, and the Nightly Business Report. Mr. Farr was a long
time recurring panelist on PBS’ Wall $treet Week with Fortune. Michael is also
the author of “A Million Is Not Enough” published by Hachette Books USA. As an
active member of the community involved in multiple charities, Mr. Farr is the
Chairman of the Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation. He also serves on the Board
of Trustees at Sibley Hospital; he is the former Vice Chairman of the Board of
the Salvation Army; he has served on the Board of Trustees of Ford’s Theatre
among many others. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization. He
is a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
