Louis Hernandez

LOUIS HERNANDEZ is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
of Open Solutions Inc., a leading provider of fully integrated
enterprise core data processing applications, Internet banking, cash
management, CRM/business intelligence, financial accounting, imaging,
interactive voice response and lending origination solutions for
financial institutions. Open Solutions has been named to the Connecticut
Technology Council’s Fast 50 and the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast
500. These organizations recognize leading companies in the technology
sector for outstanding sales growth. Mr. Hernandez joined Open Solutions
from a $300 million publicly-traded enterprise software company, where
he served as executive vice president and helped lead them from startup
to dramatic growth. In addition, Mr. Hernandez has held senior positions
at several high technology companies, and began his career at Price
Waterhouse LLP. Mr. Hernandez is a recognized technology executive,
having been appointed by Connecticut Governor John Rowland to be Vice
Chair of the Governor’s Council on Economic Competitiveness and
Technology as a representative of business with expertise in information
technology. Mr. Hernandez is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of
the Connecticut Technology Council, whose mission is to stimulate and
facilitate the growth and awareness of technology-based businesses in
Connecticut. Mr. Hernandez is the former Vice Chair of the Commission
for Educational Technology, where he recently completed a three-year
appointment issued by Governor Rowland. Mr. Hernandez is also active in
several community issues, including as a corporator of the Eastern
Connecticut Health Network, Inc. (ECHN), a not-for-profit hospital and
health system network; a member of the board of trustees of the
Connecticut Center for Science and Exploration, a statewide cultural,
entertaining and educational institution, and a board member of the
Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, an organization that is dedicated
to improving the physical and emotional health of children. Mr.
Hernandez has been named one of the Hartford Business Journal’s top
executives under 40. Mr. Hernandez has had several articles published by
leading journals and speaks regularly on the topics of technology,
economics, strategic planning and e-commerce.
