Leon Loewenstine

Leon Loewenstine is a Managing Director, Chief Investment Strategist and Co-Portfolio Manager of the RiverPoint’s Large Cap Classic Value strategy. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry. Leon works primarily with institutions including Foundations and Endowments. His expertise includes fundamental and quantitative analysis as well as investment strategy. As Chief Investment Strategist, Leon advises the firm’s Research Group on sectorweightings, position size and valuation. He is responsible for the development and implementation of investment strategy. Leon also works with high net worth individuals. His broad base of experience in investing, estate planning and taxation ideally suits him to help meet the complex needs of business owners and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining RiverPoint in 2002, Leon was a Principal and Portfolio Manager at Scudder, Stevens & Clark. Scudder, previous to its purchaseby Deutsche Bank, was a long-standing independent investment advisor with national and international investment management operations. Leon spent 17 years at Scudder, where he was a senior member of the Scudder Institutional Group and managed major institutional client portfolios. He was also a member of Scudder’s national Investment Strategy and Stock Selection Team. Leon received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati and has a Graduate Degree from the University of Denver. Leon is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and previously held the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He is a member of the International Association of Financial Planners and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Leon is a past Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Cincinnati Ballet. He serves as a Trustee of the Clovernook Center for the Blind, where he was Chairman of the Board and the Board of Advisors for Archbishop Moeller High School.
