Joseph R. Wright

JOSEPH R. WRIGHT, JR. is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director
of AmTec, Inc., a US public telecommunications company with operations
in the People’s Republic of China, with six cellular networks
surrounding Beijing and following the consummation of two mergers, a
cable TV network in Hunan and a data transmission network in Shanghai.
He also serves as Chairman and Director of GRC International, Inc., a
research-based information technology company primarily servicing the US
Department of Defense. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Wright served as Executive
Vice President, Vice Chairman and Director of W.R. Grace & Co., an
international specialty chemicals and health care company. He was also
President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Grace Energy
Corporation and Chairman of Grace Environmental Inc. From 1982 to 1989,
Mr. Wright held the positions of Director and Deputy Director of the
Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President
and was a member of President Reagan’s Cabinet. He received the
President’s Citizens Award in 1988. Prior to 1982, Mr. Wright served as
Deputy Secretary, US Department of Commerce and President of Citicorp
Retail Services and Retail Consumer Services, held posts in the
Department of Agriculture and Commerce, and was a Partner of Booz, Allen
& Hamilton, a management consulting firm. Mr. Wright also serves on the
Board of Directors of PanAmSat, Baker and Taylor Inc., and RealMed
Corporation, is a former Director of Travelers Group, Inc., and
Harcourt, Brace & Javonovich, Inc., and is a member of the Chief
Executives Organization, Young Presidents’ Organization, and the
Economic Club of New York. Mr. Wright and his wife, Ellen, have four
children and reside in New York City.
