Jack R. McDonnell

JACK R. MCDONNELL was appointed President of Ameritrade, Inc. in March
1999. Ameritrade, Inc. is a subsidiary of Ameritrade Holding Corporation
and is a leading, innovative online brokerage firm. Mr. McDonnell
oversees all aspects of new accounts, trading, marketing, product
management, customer service and technical support. Before joining
Ameritrade, Mr. McDonnell served in a variety of positions with First
Data Corporation in Omaha. Initially, he was named Executive Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer of First Data Resources. He later
served as President of First Data Enterprises, a business unit he helped
create, which was responsible for providing comprehensive data
processing and information services to national and non-traditional
bankcard issuing clients. More recently, he was Managing Director of
Client Development with the First Data Card Services Group where he was
responsible for all domestic bankcard and private label client
relationships. From 1989 to 1995, Mr. McDonnell was Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer of FirsTier Financial, Inc. of
Omaha, where he presided over all areas of banking and operations. Prior
to joining FirsTier, he held executive positions with several other
financial institutions. Mr. McDonnell is also involved in diverse
professional and civic organizations. He is the current Chairman of
Children’s Healthcare Services, and he serves on the Board of Directors
for Junior Achievement of the Midlands; the Joslyn Art Museum; Girls,
Inc.; and the Kiewit Institute of Information, Science, Technology and
Engineering. He is a past Chairman of Children’s Memorial Hospital, and
is on the board of the Omaha Zoological Society, Mid-America Council of
Boy Scouts, Economics America, and is a member of Young Presidents’
Organization. Mr. McDonnell has a BA in Accounting from St. Ambrose
University, and he is a Certified Public Accountant.
