Gilles Martin

DR GILLES MARTIN is the CEO of Eurofins Scientific, an international
group of laboratories specialised in authenticity and quality testing of
food and beverages by advanced analytical methods, which is active for
retailers and industrial companies of 40 countries, including 15
governments. Eurofins Scientific which operates 15 laboratories in
Europe and North America is listed in the Paris Stock Exchange arm of
the EURO.NM market for technology and high growth companies. After
obtaining his ‘Baccalaureat’ in Nantes, Gilles Martin graduated in
Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science from Ecole Centrale de Paris.
He subsequently obtained a Master of Science from Syracuse University
and a Ph.D. in Statistics and Applied Mathematics from Ecole Centrale de
Paris. As research associate with Syracuse University, he contributed
to the development of a statistical expert system aimed at automated
diagnosis from magnetic resonance images. He is past President of the
French Association of private testing laboratories (APROLAB), and of the
North American Technical Committee for Juice and Juice Products (TCJJP).
