David B. Eisenhaure

DAVID B. EISENHAURE founded SatCon Technology Corporation in 1985 and
serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board
of Directors and, subsequently, turned the company public in 1992. Mr.
Eisenhaure has over 30 years of experience in developing and marketing
advanced mechanical and electrical components for power applications.
Mr. Eisenhaure is a member of the Council on Competitiveness, Greater
Boston Chamber of Commerce, Massachusetts High Technology Council, IEEE,
and AIAA. He has participated in several workshops on distributed power
generation, the Partnership for Next Generation Vehicles, the MIT Forum
on Distributed Energy, and the Citizen’s Energy initiative for
distributed power, among others. Mr. Eisenhaure has won numerous
business development awards and has various patents in
electromechanical, power systems and control areas. Mr. Eisenhaure has
also received the Small Business Administration National Tibbetts Award
for outstanding contribution in the field of flywheel energy storage and
the Discover magazine Award for Technological Innovation for Automotive
and Transportation in 1995, along with Francois Castaing of Chrysler
Corporation for technological achievement in hybrid-electric vehicles.
Mr. Eisenhaure holds SB, SM and Engineering degrees in Mechanical
Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to
founding the corporation, Mr. Eisenhaure was associated with the Charles
Stark Draper Laboratory, Incorporated, from 1974 to 1985, and with its
predecessor, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Instrumentation
Laboratory, from 1967 to 1974. In addition to his duties at the
corporation, Mr. Eisenhaure holds an academic position at MIT, serving
as a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mr.
Eisenhaure also serves on the Board of Directors of Mechanical
Technology Incorporated.
