Daniel Crawford

Daniel Crawford, CFA, is Chief Investment Officer of FirstMerit Wealth Management Services. His primary responsibility is the development and implementation of FirstMerit’s investment strategy and philosophy serving in excess of $2.6 billion in assets under management. He has more than 25 years of investment experience. Before joining FirstMerit, he was Managing Director and Senior Vice President of NexTier Wealth Management. He spent 10 years in Mellon’s wealth management group as a Team Leader managing $1 billion in client assets. He has an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He has a M.S. degree in group process and psychotherapy from Hahnemann University and graduated from Dickinson College with a dual major in religion and psychology. Mr. Crawford is a member of the CFA Society of Pittsburgh.Robert Leggett, CFA, joined FirstMerit Wealth Management Services as CIO and Senior Vice President in May 2005. In early 2012, he transitioned to Senior Investment Strategist for FirstMerit Wealth Management Services. He will remain the architect of FirstMerit’s strategy tool, the Market Meter. Mr. Leggett has more than 25 years of experience leading investment management teams. Before joining FirstMerit, he was a Partner and the CIO of Gries Financial, LLC. Before that, he was President and Managing Director of the National City Investment Management Company. He joined National City, now PNC, in 1995 as Director of Equities and Portfolio Manager and also served as the CIO for the institutional trust division. He began his career in Columbus, where he was the Director of Investments for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation after spending more than 15 years in various roles at the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. He began his career as a Security Analyst at the Ohio Company. Mr. Leggett is a Certified Wealth Adviser and a Member of the Cleveland Association for Business Economics. He holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.
