Daniel Altscher

Daniel Altscher is a Research Analyst and Vice President at FBR Capital Markets & Co., covering mortgage and triple-net REITs and structured finance. Prior to becoming a Research Analyst, Mr. Altscher was an Assistant Vice President at FBR Capital Markets & Co., following the insurance sector, including both life and property/casualty insurers. Before joining the firm, Mr. Altscher was a buy-side investment Analyst at Hovde Capital Advisors LLC, a Washington, D.C., long/short equity hedge fund focused on the financial and real estate sectors. Previously, Mr. Altscher was a corporate banking Analyst for Citigroup in New York, where he focused on bank syndicated debt origination facilities for corporate clients, along with risk management of the bank’s corporate loan portfolio. Mr. Altscher received his B.S. with a dual major in finance and international business from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is also currently pursuing his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
