Catherine E. McLeod-Seltzer

CATHERINE E. MCLEOD-SELTZER is President and Director of Pacific Rim
Mining. She holds a Business degree, which, combined with an upbringing
in a third generation mining family, led to a career in mining finance.
Ms. McLeod-Seltzer started her career in 1985 with Yorkton Securities, a
Canadian investment dealer that specializes in mining and metals
financing. She joined Yorkton’s UK-based Natural Resource Group as an
institutional trader, followed by three years as a broker. During this
time she focused on Latin America, researching the Canadian mining
companies active there. In 1992 she opened the Santiago, Chile offices
of Yorkton, where she was responsible for developing new corporate
finance opportunities in South America. In 1993 Ms. McLeod-Seltzer and
J. David Lowell, world-renowned copper porphyry geologist, founded
Arequipa Resources Ltd. Subsequent to the Barrick takeover of Arequipa
Resources Ltd. early in 1997, Ms. McLeod-Seltzer assumed the position of
President of Pacific Rim Mining Corp., a Vancouver-based mineral and
exploration company in operation since 1986. Ms. McLeod-Seltzer was
instrumental in assembling an exceptional exploration team headed by
Thomas Shrake and a very strong Board of Directors, including Anthony
Petrina and William Myckatyn.
