Steve Carter – Target Corporation (tgt)

STEVE CARTER is Director, Domestic Transportation Operations of Target Corporation. He has worked in Target Corporation Transportation since October 2000. He is responsible for all modes of domestic transportation for Target Corporation, a $39 billion retail merchandiser which includes Target Stores, SuperTarget, Marshall Fields, Mervyn's, Target.Direct, and Associated Merchandising Corporation. Mr. Carter's work history includes 20 years of leadership experience in distribution and supply chain management, including service as a Corps of Engineers officer in the U.S. Army, at McLane Company (a subsidiary of Wal-Mart), and at Case Corporation (manufacturer of construction and farm equipment). His most recent position prior to Target was as the Director of Distribution ' North America for Reebok International, Limited. Joining Target in 1999, he worked in the Distribution Operations group for one year prior to his current position. He is an active member of the Council of Logistics Management, and serves as a member of Burlington Northern Santa Fe's Customer Advisory Board. Mr. Carter earned a BS in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an MBA with Distinction from the Wharton School, and a Master of Systems Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
