- Crédit Agricole Group joins Paylib, the e-wallet reference solution in France. In the meantime, Paylib extends its acceptance internationally and enables its users to make payments through e-merchants not only in France but also internationally, thanks to a partnership with MasterPass™, MasterCard® digital payment solution.
Crédit Agricole and LCL will enable Paylib solutions in 2015
Within its digital banking strategy, Crédit Agricole Group signed a letter of intent to join Paylib which will be available to 16 million Crédit Agricole and LCL cardholdersand will thus confirm the solution's leading position in the market. Crédit Agricole Group will launch Paylib commercially in 2015 for private customers, e-business professionals and companies.
Paylib strengthens its position in the French market
After Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Crédit Agricole Group arrival in Paylib is a significant step towards the creation of a standard e-wallet in France.40 million cardholders, which represent 2 French out of 3, and more than 30,000 e-merchants will have access to this online payment solution through their bank. Paylib will be positioned as a major e-wallet in France for e-business and m-business.
Launched in September 2013 by BNP Paribas, La Banque Postale and Société Générale, Paylib answers the needs for Internet purchases simplification and security. This solution, based on card payment, has already been adopted by more than 300,000 users and 700 e-merchants, including showroomprive.com, vente-privee.com, voyages-sncf.com and priceminister.com.
Paylib was conceived to improve French inter-banking collaboration that materializes today with the approval by Cartes Bancaires Group of its payment solution and is positioned as the digital wallet in France for e-commerce and m-commerce.
Thanks to MasterPass™, Paylib' banks customers will be able to use their e-wallet abroad
Thanks to an agreement with MasterCard, Paylib will offer its users access to the global MasterPass acceptance network. Paylib users will be able to shop at over 60,000 participating MasterPass merchants in 13 countries around the world. The ability for Paylib users to checkout with MasterPass will be effective in 2015.
This agreement will also enable MasterCard to accelerate the deployment of MasterPass acceptance in France where both brands, Paylib and MasterPass, will be jointly promoted to French e-merchants. This will enable e-merchants accepting MasterPass to have access to a broad customer base from around the world.
