Mr. Recarey: I cover the enterprise communications equipment sector: companies that sell data networking, telephony and video communications equipment to businesses. Overall, I think the market's growth rate has been around the double-digit level. However, there are a lot of dynamics going on within the industry that makes it very interesting.
TWST: What are some of the things that are going on?
Mr. Recarey: One driver for the past few years has been the deployment
of voice over IP and converged networks, and we mean more than just IP
phones. Enterprises are utilizing the new infrastructure to improve the
productivity and efficiency of employees and more deeply integrating the
communication systems with applications and business processes.
TWST: Is that beginning to happen?
Mr. Recarey: Certainly, it is definitely happening. It is not happening
as quickly as a lot had hoped, but it certainly is occurring.
