TWST: Give us an overview of your coverage in the human capital
management space. Mr. Swanson: Most of our coverage has centered around recruiting and e-
learning, which we believe are two of the most strategic and high-value
areas within the human capital management space. We've also spent time
looking at outsourcing and the broader business services sector in
general, with the focus there being on connecting the value chain of
human capital assets. We believe that value chain starts with
recruiting, with a lot of value also being delivered through the
development or e-learning side of the equation. TWST: Let's start on the recruiting side. What's going on there from a
business perspective at this point? Mr. Swanson: I think a couple of things. Again, if you look at the human
capital supply chain, it really starts with recruiting, and what we see
there is an opportunity to capture critical information about candidates
as they apply for jobs on your Website or through job boards. Then,
companies can continue to add to that information throughout the hiring
process through testing and assessments, so that once those candidates
become employees you have already captured a lot of information, such as
skills, competencies, behaviors and interests. You're basically creating
the master record of your company's talent, sometimes referred to as a
'talent master,' and you continue to add to it as employees develop new
skills and competencies or move within different roles inside an
organization.
