TWST: We would like to begin with a brief historical sketch of the company and a picture of the things you are doing at the present time.
Mr. Karp: Harvey Electronics is a 78-year-old consumer electronics retailer that has always been at the forefront of technology, always catering to the early adopter and to upscale clientele in the tri-state area. So historically, we have always been a place for many vendors who would roll out new technologies. Years ago, Sony used us to introduce the compact disc player. Earlier than that, we had experience with color TV. The class of customer that we cater to and focus on is a very upscale group with average family incomes well into six figures. The New York tri-state area has more families that fit that bill than anywhere in the world.

TWST: You have some rather crucial locations in the New York Metropolitan area.
Mr. Karp: Yes. We are located in Midtown on 45th Street. We also have a store downtown, inside ABC Carpet & Home; a store in Greenwich, Connecticut; Paramus; in Eatontown, New Jersey. Our new store will open up in Bridgewater, New Jersey. All of our stores are located within a five-mile radius of the densest wealth populations in the area.
