TWST: May we begin with a brief overview of Startech and a brief history of the company?
Mr. Longo: Startech Environmental Corporation is a publicly traded company, whose symbol is STHK, currently on the bulletin board and it's a company now commercializing its proprietary plasma processing technology, we call the Plasma Converter.

TWST: Which you are the co-developer?
Mr. Longo: Yes, I am the co-developer. It is important to note that while this system has many patentable innovations, there is not just one overall innovation embodied in a single patent. It's the sort of technology that is a bit like the airplane, most of the innovations developed empirically over the years to bring us to the robust system we now call the Plasma Converter.

TWST: Can you explain to our readers exactly what a Plasma Converter system is? Actually, what is plasma, because everyone thinks of blood when you think of plasma, right?
Mr. Longo: Yes, there was a time when people thought Startech, because of plasma, must have something to do with blood research. We had a writer one time that added to the confusion by saying that plasma is the life blood of the universe. 99 percent of all the material in the universe is in fact, comprised of plasma. Plasmas are gaseous materials that are excellent conductors of electricity. Lightening is a good example of a plasma. Essentially, we produce a lightening like arc of electricity in the Plasma Converter's vessel. We do that by running air past electrodes that cause the electrons to be stripped off the air. This allows the air to become a conductor of electricity. That's the plasma. By the insertion of electricity into that plasma air conductor, we produce an arc that exists at extremely high temperatures, three times hotter than the surface temperature of the sun in fact. The transfer of that radiant energy to the materials in the vessel destroys the molecular constructions of those materials. It doesn't matter is that material is vanilla ice cream or cyanide, they are coming apart at the molecular level. Basically, what we do is destroy troublesome materials safely and irreversibly and at a very low cost.
