TWST: We would like to begin with a brief historical sketch of Barrier Therapeutics and a picture of the things you are doing at the present time.
Dr. Cauwenbergh: Barrier Therapeutics is a company that is focused on therapeutic dermatology. We started off as a spinout of prescription dermatology assets from Johnson & Johnson. In the meantime, we've acquired a product that is currently marketed in the US and Canada, and we have two other products in Canada where we have exclusive distribution rights. The core value of the company lies in the combination of the fact that we have near-term assets that actually have started to contribute revenue. At the same time, we have one of the richest pipelines in the dermatology space, possibly even in specialty pharma in general, with three molecules that have potential sales of several hundred million dollars. This makes Barrier Therapeutics a unique blend between near-term specialty pharma and the long-term potential of biotech.

TWST: Is there a common platform for these products?
Dr. Cauwenbergh: It is all linked to dermatological diseases, and that is defined as diseases of skin, hair, nails, oral, and genital mucosa. The drugs we're working with belong to different chemical classes and have different pharmacological activity. So, from that angle, they are not common in one platform.
