Mr. Hickey: RARE Hospitality International was founded in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, and currently we have over 200 restaurants in 28 states. The restaurants operate under the names of The Capital Grille, LongHorn Steakhouse and Bugaboo Creek Steak House. The Capital Grille concept is a top-scale, steakhouse restaurant, LongHorn is a casual dining Western-themed restaurant, and Bugaboo Creek is a Canadian Rockies-style steakhouse.
TWST: What differentiates Bugaboo from LongHorn?
Mr. Hickey: Bugaboo Creek is reminiscent of a mountain lodge with
hunting, fishing and trapping memorabilia, large stone
fireplaces, and a limited use of animatronics. In addition, the
menu leans more toward a casual dining menu with steak options,
whereas LongHorn is a casual dining steak restaurant with a
Western flair and sells significantly more steaks per restaurant
than Bugaboo does.
