TWST: And you're covering energy technology. How broad a net do you
cast?
Ms. Callahan: Energy technology is a sector defined by various
alternatives to traditional energy applications and technologies. Most
of these technologies are still in a fairly embryonic state, so there
are many companies pursuing a wide variety of applications. Some of the
verticals within energy technology include power generation technologies
(base load, uninterruptible power supply, known as 'UPS' or 'back-up'
power, energy storage, power electronics), clean energy (renewable and
pollution/emission controls), energy intelligence (improving information
flow) and almost anything else that focuses on providing cleaner, more
efficient power.
