TWST: Could you give us an overview of Republic Bancorp?
Mr. Cluckey: Republic is the third largest bank holding company headquartered in Michigan. We have 4.4 billion in assets with 97 offices in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. We specialize in distinctive personal service.

TWST: How do you define distinctive personal service?
Mr. Cluckey: It's a relationship-based service that exceeds the expectations of our internal and external customers. Distinctive personal service sets the standard for our employees and tells our customers what to expect.

TWST: What's going on in your marketplace at this point?
Mr. Cluckey: In general, the economy is steady. We have some pluses and minuses going on here as one of the larger employment areas for the auto industry. Therefore, we obviously have some of the ups and downs of that. On the other hand, in terms of the real estate business, which is one of the areas that we focus on, commercial real estate values have had consistent, reasonable growth; no huge increases in values, just steady increases. On the residential side, we have some of the most affordable housing in the country.
