Mr. Orleans: Our business was started about 80 years ago by my grandfather. I'm a third generation builder. My father passed away in 1986, and since then I've been CEO of our company. Our company builds residential housing currently in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, as well as Pennsylvania and New Jersey ' which are our two largest markets. The Orleans family has been one of the largest homebuilders in the Delaware Valley for the last 50 years.
TWST: What are the principle reasons for the continuing success of the
company over the years?
Mr. Orleans: We always maintain a strong land inventory. We try to own
enough to build on for the next two to three years and also have ground
that we take through the approval process that generally will be built
