HUMAN GENOME SCIENCES, INC. (Nasdaq:HGSI);

Four analysts, two experts and top management from thirty-seven sector firms examine the Biotechnology sector in this special 179-page issue from The Wall Street Transcript, available at (212/952-7433) or http://www.twst.com/info/info423.htm

“I feel that Human Genome Science’s management is doing it quite right,” offers a biotech expert. “There is really one big reason for that: HGSI is approaching mining the genome for drugs in an extraordinarily practical manner. Is it going to revolutionize the world? Probably — in 20 years. HGSI, unlike a company like Millenium, is only preparing to go forward in genomics. Bill Haseltine, CEO of HGSI, has some definite ideas on where he wants HGSI heading. Everything HGSI does is geared towards genomics. Not everybody else approaches genomics in that fashion. If you talk to HGSI’s IT guys, their clinical guys, their research guy or the bench people — they’re all focused on getting drugs out of the genome. HGSI is going to miss some really exciting stuff now, but that’s the breaks. HGSI can’t do everything. In 20 years they will be way ahead. In terms of mining the genome for drugs, HGSI is the best out there.

“I also want to mention that I feel Bill Haseltine is a great manager. I would let Bill Haseltine run any company that I owned. Regardless of ego, Haseltine has done a great job with HGSI and I have total faith in him.”
