PROGRESSIVE CORPORATION (NYSE:PGR);

Three analysts and top management from five sector firms examine the Life Insurance sector in this special 43-page issue from The Wall Street Transcript, available at (212/952-7433) or http://www.twst.com/info/info411.htm

“You’ve got to give Progressive a lot of credit for what Glenn Renwick, CEO, did in terms of turning the business around,” says a top insurance analyst. “It was quite impressive. Progressive had a really unexpectedly speedy recovery. Progressive is the largest company that stood out doing a good job in 2001.”

“I would say Progressive did a remarkably good job,” agrees a second analyst. “They turned around their earnings a lot quicker than we would have expected. Also, Progressive reaccelerated their growth rate. Progressive has always had a good management team, but in the past year they distinguished themselves.”

“One good company is Progressive Corp,” offers a third industry observer. “Progressive had gotten into troubles with mispricing their private passenger auto coverage. In the last two years, Progressive has made a remarkable recovery. Renwick has righted the ship, corrected claims processing and Progressive now seems poised to show some extraordinarily good numbers going forward. I give Progressive credit.”
