We own an independent broker-dealer, Investors Capital Corporation, and we also manage money through our subsidiary Eastern Point Advisors. We have a mutual fund ' the Investors Capital 20 Fund ' under the management of Chief Investment Officer Fred Sears. Fred is seen on CNBC and CNNfn quite frequently. Investors Capital was recently voted the Broker-Dealer of the Year for the second consecutive year ' in the independent channel ' by Investment Advisor magazine.
TWST: As you look to the general landscape of the market you're serving,
what position do you feel you have at this point?
Mr. Charles: I think we're in a really good position. We're ready to
expand our market, we're recruiting more reps and we are getting more
money under management. We're also moving more into the fixed income
markets. We offer reps a significantly higher payout than they would
receive in a traditional wire house. Many reps in this down market are
having their compensation reduced, so they are joining our firm. These
are very good producers from major firms, so that's a real plus.
