TWST: Can we start with an introduction to Scitex (NasdaqNM:SCIX), including the company’s history and core markets?

Mr. Agassi: Scitex, over the last 35 years, has been an innovator in technology solutions to the printing market. Two years ago, In April 2000, Scitex sold its legacy Prepress business, to Creo Products inc., we established ourselves as the world leader in the fast growing Industrial Digital Printing market. We have grown our activities in this market to over a quarter of a billion in a few years of activity. Scitex through its subsidiaries develops industrial strength, digital printing equipment, based on Ink-Jet technologies. We are a world leader in that domain and hold a very strong intellectual property base. Our operations today are global with manufacturing in the US and in Israel and with commercial activities more or less equally balanced between America, Europe, and the Far East. In the last few quarters, we managed to maintain the top line while the industry has been suffering from the economic environment.

TWST: Are there any main competitors, and how would you say Scitex differentiates itself from the competition?

Mr. Agassi: The market we are acting in is divided into discrete application segments served by different companies with different solutions. Scitex is therefore built in a structure reflecting that segmentation. Each one of our companies is facing different competitors in the segments they address. Our largest company, Scitex Digital Printing (SDP), which is located in Dayton, Ohio, produces the worlds fastest color inkjet printers in the world. The market SDP operates in is served by the likes of IBM and Xerox. Nevertheless, none of the competitors currently active in the market has a product similar or close to that produced by SDP. The SDP product line produces printed color documents at rates of thousands of pages per minute and at a total cost of single cents per page. This performance is at least an order of magnitude better than any competitor on the horizon.. Our second major subsidiary, named Scitex Vision, is based in Israel. Scitex vision deals with wide-format digital printing equipment for the Out of Home Advertising market that is billboards, bus shelters truck covers etc. the main competitors in this market are of similar scale to us one is an American company Vutech and the other is Nur Macroprinters, which is an Israeli company as well. These are our main competitors. Our other subsidiaries are in various stages of product and market development and the competition there is less defined. Our competitive advantage is the very advanced level of our inkjet technology, strong integration capability and excellent market reputation. We are agile and aggressive and try to move as fast as we can to leverage our advantages.

TWST: When you look over the next one to two years, what’s on the company’s agenda? Is there a growth strategy you can comment on?

Mr. Agassi: Yes, we are focused on developing two major application segments: the first is the Data Center market I Previously managed; and the second is the packaging market. Each opportunity is addressed by a different operating unit within the company. We believe both markets will drive our growth in the short to medium term
