TWST: In order to set up the interview, could you give us a brief overview of IDS Scheer?
Mr. Kruppke: Let me give you a short overview of the IDS Scheer business model. We are a consulting and software company that offers very integrated solutions to our customers. Our core focus is business process management, and that has been our focus since 1985 when the company was founded by Professor Scheer. So we began as a consulting firm, but we have developed our own consulting methodology that we believe to be the premier methodology for growth-oriented consulting. To enhance our offerings, we have also developed a software product for business process engineering. This product, called ARIS, is the world’s leading tool for business process engineering with more than 24,000 licenses sold. So business process consulting and business process engineering software are the core of our business. Then, of course, we focus our consulting and tools on specific topics like supply chain management and customer relationship management.

TWST: What is the company’s history?
Mr. Kruppke: The company was founded by Professor Scheer in 1985. At that time Professor Scheer was well known in Germany, and was beginning to establish his international reputation, as a leading teacher and resource specialist in the field of logistics – particularly for manufacturing. That was the origin of IDS Scheer as a consulting company.
