TWST: Can you start us off with an introduction to Robert Walters; what are its main businesses; how is it structured?
Mr. Walters: It's really two main business areas: a recruitment consultancy where we primarily specialise in finance and IT recruitment, (although we also have growing Call Centre, Secretarial & Support and Legal recruitment divisions) with worldwide offices, and it's also an HRoutsourcing business through the brand, Resource Solutions, effectively the outsourcing of the HR functions of companies. So if we take the recruitment piece first, we've got about 650 people spread around the world, 17 offices in 13 countries, pretty much everywhere you would expect: Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, Frankfurt, London, New York. I set up the business 15 years ago and all our offices have been organically grown with one exception - where we bought an IT company in Australia.

TWST: Is that to follow the global footprint of your clients?
Mr. Walters: Yes. In fact now, especially in the past two years, we've been winning global supply deals. Everyone used to talk about that in the past but it never really happened; now it's definitely happening. We tend to deal in the levels of junior management through to senior management; we finish where the Russell Reynolds and, Spencer Stuarts start, but we don't do blue collar junior clerical.
