An industry follower offers his opinion on the stocks of Duke-Weeks (NYSE:DRE), headed by Chairman & CEO Thomas L. Hefner.

“People are underestimating what Hefner can do with Duke-Weeks. The stock had a tough 1999, but is starting to pick up pretty nicely here in the first half of 2000. The stock has a good 4, 5 to go for the balance of this year. It could end up being one of the top performers for the REIT universe this year. Duke-Weeks has a game plan in place whereby they’re going to sell assets, not unlike what Archstone is doing, in markets where either value has been realized or where they have too much concentration."
