Mr. Allan: The business has 3 divisions under the umbrella of BGR. The first and predominant division is restaurants. Here we have two concepts, the first is a smart brasserie concept in Bank, which is geared more to major cities in the UK, and there are two of them up and running as we speak. The main focus of the company, however, is a concept called Fish! which is a very simple caf‚/diner-style concept, between GBP 15-25 per head spend. The food preparation division, which was founded in 1985, is the supply of finite-portioned fresh produce, i.e. fish and meat; we supply upwards of 300 major London restaurants or restaurants in the south, and this acts as a platform for our restaurant business. And the third division is the IT division. When we built Bank, we looked at the market leaders in restaurant software, i.e. Romenco and Micros, and we believed we could build an bespoke system IT reservation system that was more robust and simpler; and it's been very successful. We supply the likes of Conran, Raymond Blanc, and a lot of the well-known restaurateurs, with their IT systems.
TWST: In the recent corporate history, what has been the most
significant event?
Mr. Allan: Probably the flotation. We had a placing on the AIM market,
raising GBP 2.2 million to fund the initial development of the Fish!
concept.
