TWST: Could you begin by giving us a brief overview of Micrel ?
Mr. Zinn: Micrel was founded in 1978 without benefit of any venture funding. It was financed with roughly 300,000 of invested capital primarily by my partner and myself. The company started out as a test services company, and then in 1981, we acquired a wafer fab facility and began doing some custom semiconductor products mainly for the military. In 1989, we began developing our own standard products, which is the biggest part of our business today. We're very proud of our history. Micrel is 20-years-old and has never lost money on an annual basis. The company went public in December, 1994 and has had 11 straight quarters of increasing revenue and earnings growth. Today, we manufacture a complete line of high performance, analog integrated circuits, as well as specializing in power management type analog ICs, and high bandwidth, high-speed products for the communications and computing markets.

TWST: Who are your prime customers?
Mr. Zinn: We deal with most of the big cellular phone companies, communication companies and computer companies. Additionally, we sell to what we call the industrial market, primarily via our distribution channel, into a wide range of systems, including instrumentation, medical, and power supplies.
