Mr. Dalene: Hamptons Luxury Homes is a regional construction services company based in the Hamptons of eastern Long Island, New York. We serve the vacation home market of the Hamptons, building homes for primarily the second home market.
TWST: What is on the agenda for Hamptons for the next 12 months? What are your
priorities and what would make that time frame a success?
Mr. Dalene: What we are doing now is focusing on our core business. Since last
August, we brought in a full-time senior level sales and marketing person to
focus on marketing, advertising and building market share in the Hamptons. We
are in some very challenging times economically and those economic conditions
are impacting the real estate market in the Hamptons. We have seen real estate
sales slow down. Over the last couple of months, we have seen potential projects
that we were bidding on lost or delayed for a period of time. These are
uncertain times here in the Hamptons until the global economic conditions are
more fully known. We saw a similar condition after 9/11 in the Hamptons and for
about six months projects went on hold and people contracted as far as spending
was concerned until it was more clear what was going to happen. We are seeing a
very similar situation now. However, as a result of our advertising and
marketing campaign, we have replaced most of the projects in our pipeline that
we are bidding. This has provided us with a net result of just delaying the
actual building of projects, which then gets converted to revenues of the
company.
