Mr. Sweeney: A brief historical sketch is that we started as a small insurance agency back in the early 1960s in Philadelphia and we developed expertise in specific niche industries in the commercial property casualty arena, the first being a package program for commercial auto dealers; we learned how to differentiate insurance policies in unique businesses and migrate them across the country. And from that initial foray into the commercial property auto dealer business, we now have 70 different products that we market through 47 offices around the country. And I think we are perceived as one of the best niche underwriters in America as it relates to specialty property casualty insurance.
TWST: Would you describe one or two of the most important products,?
Mr. Sweeney: Right now, probably the biggest is a commercial package policy for
social and human service organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, United Way
and Big Brothers Big Sisters. There are over 600,000 non-profit organizations
that provide a variety of services to society and our company is probably the
premier provider of insurance to that industry. The second biggest niche we are
involved with is anything related to sports; from Major League Baseball to the
US Olympics to Pop Warner Football to Top Rank Boxing to IRONMAN TRIATHLON to
Little Legs and lacrosse, ice hockey and soccer, we do the general liability as
well as the inland marine and the director and officers' liability. We've
created a brand around the sports business. We also include Pro Sports, Minor
League Sports and anything to do with the sports side.
