TWST: Would you give us a brief historical sketch of the company and a picture
of the things you're doing at the present time? Mr. Sims: Before I get started, I'd like to remind everyone that during the
course of this interview, we may make forward-looking statements regarding
future events or the future performance of the company. These statements reflect
the current views and assumptions of Crossroads, and are subject to various
risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially
from expectations.
The company is celebrating a 10-year anniversary in the industry and the
marketplace. Over these 10 years, we've grown to own 89% of the storage area
network (SAN) bridging and routing market. Now, we've positioned the company to
take advantage of the business information assurance emerging marketplace, and
are delivering multiple BIA solutions. BIA offerings provide companies and
governments with rapid and reliable access to information, with cost-effective
disaster recovery and unique business continuity solutions as well as seamless
risk management, patented data security, and pro-active data integrity.
As a result, companies are ensured the access, integrity, security and
protection of their most critical business asset: information. TWST: What is the general outlook for your industry and for your company in
particular? Mr. Sims: It's a very exciting time in the industry. As storage and security are
starting to consolidate, we are seeing lots of changes that are becoming more
and more prevalent. This can be seen at EMC as they recently announced the
acquisition of RSA, Symantec buying Veritas, and several other corporate
activities. These changes and others are indicative that the high-tech industry
is starting to view the confluence of storage and security as an act that needs
to occur for the technology going forward. We are very excited about these
developments. Two years ago, we repositioned the company's products to meet
BIA's requirements and started building new products and solutions to take
advantage of this confluence in storage and security. As such, we now have a
suite of business information assurance solutions that are going to address the
problems in the industry today dealing with the security of information, the
resiliency of that information, and the ongoing accessibility to that
information.
