TWST: What is Victhom Human Bionics? Mr. Huet: Victhom is a pure bionic player. We are involved in the development of
bionic medical devices. We have five products in the pipeline. We have two main
research units. The first one is a BioTronix unit. We have put our first product
on the market. This first product is named POWER KNEE. It's for amputees above
the knee. This is the first motorized prosthetic on the market. It's done via
our partner, Ossur, which is an Icelandic company. Their first product is on the
market on the BioTronix research unit.
We have a second research unit in neurostimulation. Our main technology, which
is a breakthrough technology, is a closed loop system with the Neurocuff. This
is a huge market of probably close to $7 billion by 2010. It's a huge market,
and we are currently one of the most advanced technology. It is a closed loop
system. We can monitor and we can do stimulation and sensing of nerves in order
to treat some special disease. TWST: Where did the science originate? How did it come into being within your
company? Mr. Huet: For the first research unit, the BioTronix, it is coming from the
Founder, who is a biomedical engineer. For the NeuroBionix, two years ago, we
bought a company named Neurostream. We got this neuromodulation technology from
the company we bought from Vancouver two years ago.
