TWST: What is AccelRate Power Systems? Mr. Koch: AccelRate Power Systems has a unique charging technology with global
implications, and we have the ability to significantly reduce the amount of time
that it takes to charge a battery without damaging the battery. What
differentiates us from all the other fast charging technologies that are
commercially available today is that we provide a full state-of-charge to the
battery. This is significant. Our technology is commercially available today in
industrial or material handling applications, the initial market we are focusing
on. This is the single biggest sector of the rechargeable battery market.
We have licensed our technology to Hawker Powersource in North America and to
the EnerSys Group in Europe, which is the parent company of Hawker Powersource.
With them, we are manufacturing industrial chargers for the forklift market.
These chargers are built in France and are being marketed by Hawker Powersource
in North America under the Hawker brand name with AccelRate technology inside.
We have a unique, two-part agreement with Hawker in that they are also building
AccelRate-branded chargers powered by Hawker. We are marketing these ourselves
to the industrial aftermarket, which represents approximately 60% of the total
motive power market today in North America. EnerSys, our European partner, is
expecting to introduce and distribute the product in Europe commencing in
September 2006, where it will be released under the Hawker, Oldham, Fiamm, and
EnerSys labels. TWST: What's the agenda for your company at this point? What would make the next
12 months a success? Mr. Koch: Our focus is to break into the industrial market, have the product
applied at end-user sites, and to leverage success in that market into others
such as the power tool, portable, stationary and transportation markets.
