TWST: What is Navigant? Mr. Perks: Navigant is a global specialized consulting organization. We have 43
offices around the world, principally in the US. We do litigation and dispute
related consulting, as well as financial and operational consulting, and, in
macro terms, our business is probably split in half between litigation dispute,
regulatory consulting, and financial and operational consulting. Last year we
did $575 million in revenues. This year, our guidance is for $650 to $675
million in revenues. We trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol
NCI. TWST: What are the dynamics for your marketplace as far as customers, clients
and competition? What do you have to do to differentiate yourself? Mr. Perks: The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 now precludes independent accountants
from working on litigation, valuation and IT infrastructure work, and that Act
has spawned opportunities for specialized consulting organizations like Navigant
Consulting to carve out a niche in their area of practice to take the place of
what Big Four accounting firms used to practice. They still are important
competitors, but specialized consulting organizations are certainly the norm,
and it is a very competitive marketplace led by four or five firms with a number
of boutique organizations around the country and world.
