TWST: We would like to begin with a brief historical sketch of Ample
Communications and a picture of the things you are doing at the present
time.
Mr. Steinberg: We've got three locations. We have a design center in
Bangalore, India, that is a full turnkey design center. We have a small
facility in Sacramento, California, for operations, and then our
headquarters is here in Fremont, California.
TWST: What makes you distinctive within your competitive landscape?
Mr. Steinberg: In the communications infrastructure space, we've really
focused on delivering intelligent MAC devices for optimizing Ethernet
aggregation. So what we've really targeted is reducing board space,
reducing power consumption, and reducing cost per port through
integration and over-subscription.
TWST: Can you describe some of your principal products?
Mr. Steinberg: We've got three key products. We have two gigabit
Ethernet product families ' those are 12-port and 24-port products. They
are targeted at full-rate applications and over-subscribed applications.
We also have a 2-port, 10-gigabit Ethernet product.
