Mr. Enwall: The company was conceived a little more than two years ago to solve a key problem in the emerging wireless sensor and control networks field ' the problem of network operations and deployment. The state-of-the industry for the last five years has been all around the base technology and just making low power wireless radio networks work: to work reliably, conserve power, operate on a battery, all those basic technologies. Nobody focused on the sort of operational issues of the network, which consist of monitoring, network management, network performance, and upward integration into the rest of the enterprise. There were five co-Founders of Tendril including myself, Matt O'Kelley who previously had started and sold a software development firm, Randy Willig who was the Director of Conceptual Product Group at National Semiconductor, and a couple of engineers. We put money in the bank in September 2004 and started to develop a product that would address those operational issues for wireless sensor and control networks. We received some venture funding along the way in March 2005. We completed a beta in June 2005, put our first production product out in January of this year, and have a stable and growing base of customers including the US government, and a few multi-billion dollar global companies. We also have tremendous partnerships with a couple of device manufacturing companies. I should also note that we have also recently made two significant announcements: the completion of our Series B round worth $5.25 million and the news that one of the pioneers of the field has joined Tendril as CEO. Adrian Tuck is one of the most widely respected people in the wireless sensor and control network field, and he has recently been appointed as Tendril's CEO, a role I played since the company was founded in 2004. Adrian was most recently a member of the Executive Team at Ember Corporation, a leader in the ZigBee space. During his tenure with Ember, he guided market strategy for the company and led the company through its critical early-growth stage, which positioned it for the 75% market share it has achieved today. Adrian was responsible for identifying and closing a major strategic deal with STMicroelectronics, the first in a series of important alliances with micro-controller manufacturers, and he has been personally responsible for many of the most significant deals that have happened in the field over the past few years. As Tendril's CEO, Adrian will focus on driving expansion of Tendril's customer base through multiple channels, including alliances with other leading companies in the WSCN industry.
