TWST: We would like to begin with a brief historical sketch of Merix and
a picture of the things you are doing at the present time.
Mr. Hollinger: Merix has been a public company for 12 years. We just
celebrated our 12th anniversary as a public company since our 1994
spinout from Tektronix. But probably what's most important is that our
last fiscal year, which ended in May, was a transforming year for Merix,
as we acquired and are integrating two significant acquisitions for us
that changed the face of the company going forward ' the acquisition of
a quick-turn business in San Jose, as well as a large manufacturing
business in Asia, which we point to as additive to our strategy of
developing a world-class printed circuit board operation.
TWST: That was Eastern Pacific Circuits that you acquired.
Mr. Hollinger: That's correct.
TWST: Were they as large as you?
Mr. Hollinger: They were a little bit smaller than we were, but the
completion of both of the acquisitions more than doubled the size of the
company.
