TWST: What is puraDYN Filter Technologies? Mr. Kroger: puraDYN Filter Technologies Incorporated is a manufacturer
and marketer of a high-efficiency engine oil bypass filtration system.
The concept is based on ways of reducing the fleet's maintenance costs,
waste oil generation, and our energy dependency on foreign oil. We
analyzed the factors that cause people to have to change their oil '
it's not because the oil wears out, but because of contaminations and
the depletion of the base additives. Since filtration, for the most
part, has always been focused on filtering the solid contaminants only,
we felt it necessary to address all the factors that cause oil to lose
its characteristics. Without addressing these issues, it is extremely
difficult for you to safely extend oil drain intervals, and with that
came the concept of our idea and the patent that we carry for our
product. We basically filter solid contaminants to below one micron,
thus eliminating the dirtiness of the oil. Two, we remove any of the
waters and the harmful gases that can help to create acids inside the
oil. Three, we replace the base additives of the oils that are normally
depleted through normal operations of the engine. By doing that, we are
able to safely extend oil drain intervals 2, 3, or 4 times the normal
interval, and in some specific cases, we have actually eliminated the
oil drain required on engines altogether. TWST: What's the market segment that you target? Mr. Kroger: Our re-occurring market segment opportunity is estimated to
be a $13.2 billion. What we mean is that, based on the number of new
engines produced each year, this is the market opportunity generated
annually for bypass filtration. Keep in mind the replacement filter
revenue, which is not represented in the above number, will continue to
grow and become a significant contributor over time. We sell a
component that is actually fitted to the diesel engines, and then we
have a replacement filter that has to be replaced on a routine basis.
