TWST: We would like to begin with a brief historical sketch of Cohu,
Inc., and a picture of the main things that you're doing at the present
time.
Mr. Donahue: Cohu was established in 1947 and over the years has had a
number of operating units. Today, we have four businesses and our
principal one, Delta Design, Inc., represents approximately 85% of Cohu
sales. Delta designs, manufactures, sells and supports semiconductor
test handling equipment. Our principal facility is in Poway, California,
a suburb of San Diego, and we have about 1,000 employees. Our
semiconductor equipment is sold to both integrated device manufacturers
and IC test subcontractors. About two-thirds of our equipment is
installed in Southeast Asia. TWST: And your other business units?
Mr. Donahue: Our other businesses produce CCTV cameras, metal detectors
for consumer, industrial and security applications, and microwave
communications equipment. TWST: Will the proportions change?
Mr. Donahue: We believe that our best growth opportunities continue to
be in the semiconductor test handling equipment business.
