Mr. Stone: We took over the company in April 2005. We changed the focus of the company to an urban life care focus, which is primarily healthcare related. We own a mail order pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management provider, mini-clinics, and technology systems for healthcare e-prescribing and delivery. We also have the ability to construct and develop senior housing for 55 and older folks. Our whole focus is to provide health care in an urban setting that reflects the needs of the patients. We compete, on the pharmacy side, against Medco, CareMark and the large pharmacy and mail order pharmacy providers. On the clinic side, it's a new industry. All of our competitors are new and we are responding to the decisions that managed care and the insurers have made to put healthcare decisions back into the consumer's hand. Our contract services are mostly marketed to corporations or large groups that are in affinity with each other and we service state, local and federal government accounts.
TWST: Are there synergies among these several things that you are
involved in?
Mr. Stone: Interestingly enough, if you look at our mail-order pharmacy,
we really formed the business as a result of the anticipation of the
Medicare Part D program that the government put in place starting
January 1 and the electronic prescription portion of that planned
outlay. The prescription is the root of our business. Our mini clinics,
which provide episodic care for things like sore throats and ear
infections, are placed in retail environments. Eventually, these clinic
patients need a prescription of some sort. Fifty-five and older seniors,
of the type who live in our developments, are the largest users of
prescription medications. Therefore, again, the prescription is the
common denominator. Our e-prescribing technology is used to provide
electronic medical records and other prescribing technology that allows
physicians to conform to the Medicare rules and laws concerning
electronic prescriptions.
