Mr. We already play there with some of our cellular-based modem products and we plan to expand that product portfolio into additional wireless products as well as some value-added software solutions.
TWST: Would you tell us about automated meter reading?
Mr. Burdiek: Automated meter reading has been discussed for a number of
years and there has been relatively minimal application of it in the
residential space, although there has been automation that has been
applied to what are called higher-value metering applications, namely
for commercial and industrial applications. But given the evolution in
communication technology, there are a number of different solutions that
the utilities are considering that would allow them to economically
apply automated meter reading for the residential application. And once
that begins to happen, obviously it is a very, very large marketplace,
given the hundreds of millions of meters that there are in the United
States and many times that internationally.
