Mr. Kremer: I initiated coverage of the clean tech sector about nine months ago, and I take a pretty broad view of the sector to be those technologies and business models that enable a more sustainable use of natural resources while supporting a growing global economy. So that runs everything from renewable energy and clean water to agriculture and energy storage, nine different categories in all. Within that universe of clean tech industries, when I initiated, I specifically set out to identify which grouping within those sectors I viewed as most appealing to investors. I decided to focus on demand-side management or energy management, and the biggest reason was that there is strong demand pull and it doesn't require government subsidies. And demand-side management I break down into, and most do, energy efficiency and demand response. So I initiated my coverage on that sector with Comverge followed by Orion Energy Systems and Lime Energy. Also, I then picked up coverage of Telvent and Echelon, which fall under that broad category as well. I also assumed coverage of a couple of companies internally that fall under the clean tech umbrella, which included two companies that manufacture geothermal heat pumps, which are more energy efficient heat pumps or HVAC systems. They are LXU, or LSB Industries, and WaterFurnace Renewable Energy. And then a third, kind of the second area now that I'm also covering and I view as a growth sector, where I assumed coverage of a company, was Solar Power, Inc. (SOPWE.OB), within the solar industry.
TWST: In which subsectors do you see the most potential for longer-term growth?
Mr. Kremer: As part of energy management, you could also include energy storage. We also cover - and I will be picking up coverage of Maxwell Technologies, which makes ultracapacitors. Energy storage offers a lot of opportunities, everything from utility scale to what's happening in the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle markets, as well as for data centers, backup power, these sorts of things. I also see nuclear energy as a large growth opportunity as well. We do cover as well one company that is involved in nuclear energy, GSE Systems. So yes, that's another area I could see picking up coverage at some point in the next few years as a good growth sector.
