Mr. Dent: Mavrix Fund is a mutual fund management company. We are part of Matrix Asset Management, which is a publicly listed company with approximately 3 billion under management.
TWST: You're a small-cap Canadian specialist, I believe.
Mr. Dent: Yes, I am. Within the Mavrix organization, I'm responsible for our small-cap funds.
TWST: We're very familiar with the tumultuous events that occurred in the U.S. over the last 12 to 18 months. How has that impacted investing in small caps in Canada?
Mr. Dent: In Canada resources are a very important part of the small-cap landscape. Over the last year, while there has been some significant tumult in the market in general, the resource market has been quite healthy because of increasing commodity prices driven by activity in China. So for the last year, we've really seen a very robust and positive Canadian small-cap market.
