TWST: Please begin with a brief overview of your coverage universe, including the specific Internet services names you follow.
Mr. Chowdhry: I'm a Senior Analyst at Global Equities Research. We cover three sectors: IT services, software and Internet. In the Internet space, we cover Google and Yahoo!. In IT services we cover Infosys (INFY), Wipro (WIT), Satyam (SAY), Mahindra (TECHM.NS), Cognizant (CTSH). And in the software space, we cover Oracle, Red Hat (RHT), Sybase, Adobe (ADBE), Salesforce.com and VMware. We also cover hardware companies like HP (HPQ), Apple (AAPL) and IBM (IBM).

TWST: What will be the most important trends and developments in the Internet services space in 2010?
Mr. Chowdhry: I think, as you have seen our coverage list - we cover IT services, the Internet and software - I think the lines between the sectors that I mentioned will be blurred as we go into 2010. And historically it has always been true - the leaders before recession and the leaders after recession are usually very different. So with that in the background, definitely there are three trends that will emerge in 2010, but the leadership positions will be different. The three trends, definitely I would say Internet would be the building block. I would say it would not evolve into something different, I would say it would manifest itself into cloud computing and cloud services. It will evolve into mobile clouds, mobile Internet, mobile business, and then of course offshoring and outsourcing will also continue to be a strong trend in 2010. Just to recap, three trends will be cloud computing, mobile computing, and offshoring and outsourcing. But the underlying building block is going to be Internet. When I talk about Internet, it means universal access from any device, anywhere, anytime, always on, always available. That is the difference in 2010, I would say, between the next decade and the prior decade. Now if you think about these three trends, then also I would like to tell how the market will segment itself. The market will segment into, first, what I would call a "consumer-centric" model and "enterprise-centric" model. But there will be some companies that will play a major role in both the camps, that are consumer-centric as well as enterprise-centric, as a new trend in 2010 would be the consumerization of the enterprise.
